Generally - again - I'm aiming at writing an article about traditional Japanese home.

I'm interested in it, since I'm an Legend of the Five rings player and I'm willing to write a series of helpful articles about Japanese culture and traditions in order wo widen my own knowledge, as well as to help other people who would like to learn, but speak English poorly.

So: anyone anything? For now I've found this site:

http://www.yoshinoantiques.com/Interior-article.html

Please let me know if there is something more! Books about Japan are so hard to find where I live...

Someone is uploading a video on Machiya, the traditional Japanese house. Maybe this could help you learn something.

Part 1

Part 2

He hasn't yet posted the end of the video but it should be up in a few days. :)

Hi Oiran & all,

A few years ago I picked up a book about the Katsura Imperial villa at a bookshop in the same street as the Yoshino Interieur shop - but not in Pasadena, rather in The Hague! What a small world we live on! :) Nice link BTW.

Katsura Imperial villa, though not Everyman's residence, is absolutely stunning, and was a major influence on Western architects ever since Frank Lloyd Wright. There's a long row of websites about the villa, a nice example is:

Katsura villa, sporting a large series of photographs.

[Edited to the occasion of my first attempt at the méthode miéhinique, that makes URL-names appear so much more graceful - after all, this is a maiko-geiko board, isn't it?]
[BTW it does not show up as intended when I preview my message, preview just shows everything - OK, while I'm at it, second edit: despite preview showing everything, it works quite allright. :thanks: Miehina-sensei!]
