Here's the ranks and the posting numbers required to reach each rank:

Shikomi 0
Minarai 60
Misedashi 90
First Year Maiko 110
Junior Maiko 200
Senior Maiko 290
Erikae 370
Geiko 420
Senior Geiko 650

I'll add ranks after the senior Geiko eventually.

Hmmm, I dunno, that might be misleading to go from senior Geiko to Tayuu. What I'm thinking about is that once a user hits 1000 posts, that they can choose their own rank.

So, basically, you could choose Tayuu after Senior Geiko.

Is it a good idea you think, Ichisumi-san?

I remember being on another forum a long, long, time ago that would allow you to change your rank at 1000 ranks. While I don't think I could implement such a script, I could have users with sufficient posts just email me and I could over ride the ranks from there.

Besides eventually getting us a dedicated server if the financial means are available, I would like to get a developer on the forum to help me out with some extra coding fun that would make the board even more unique and fun.

i was in another forum where after 2000 posts your avart size could be changed to 200 x 200 *drools*

and access to some secret subforum

Wow, 200 X 200? I don't know if that would work well with some users having 200 X 200 and other's with 100 X 100, but I might try to think up some sort of reward for hitting 2000.

well at the end it was a bad idea, because pple started to spam-post. :/ so it was banned (that idea) and only some of the old members could have bigger avatar sizes.

Maybe a bit of a larger signature? Of course, I really don't have rules on that, basically a, "Keep it simple and not too huge," so I really don't know. Maybe a color change in name for senior members? But it's not really a sort of privilege. Maybe allow them to have a personalized rank image? Maybe like be able to combine their avatar with their rank image, so it would be like they got an avatar size increase?

maybe with when you hit 1,000 posts you could have like master dance geiko, master music geiko and they would get more awards as they progress? just a thought......

well not many pple use signatures here, so perhaps it wouldn't be necessary. :wink:

Senior Geiko isn't on the top of the hanamachi heirarchy. There are Okaasan, Sensei, Mamasan... I think it would be cool to choose between becoming one of those three.

I thought mamasan run the ochaya and bars and were also referred to as okamisan.
