My preference in books varies with what interests I have at the moment, mainly- for example, right now I mostly read books about geiko and traditional japanese culture (as well as chinese culture and language, which are at the moment other strong interests of mine, but I digress).
I still have to find good books about traditional arts, especially about the tea ceremony, traditional dance, and kabuki, so for now I just read forums and blog posts. But I'm sure I'll find something, with time ^^
As for artists, I'm enamoured of the Impressionist movement, so Monet is probably my favourite artist.
My favourite maiko is Umechie! I just find her so lovely.
I am studying medical biotechnology! I love this course, and the job I'll get at the end of my studies. I feel very inclined to research. Uni definitely has a different feeling than high school, which is very positive, considering I really disliked my old school. I probably don't fit in much (I never really do), but here I feel more free to do my thing, without caring too much about others' judgement. Since I'm very shy, this is important to me!
