The first katsura I bought wasn't to my taste (I'm very picky), so I bought a better one and I put my first one up for auction on ebay. Take a look, it's pretty nice and doesn't come with Japanese shipping charges.

Fuyou-san, might want to check your shipping on priority there. I've shipped several Katsura in the past month and Priority has usually ran between $17 - $25 for me, so, just a rough ball park for ya. :)

I do have it on US Postal Service Priority Mail, and when I got estimates on shipping costs, some of the cities mentioned were around $25. It could be you live close to me, so the shipping cost is going down, or that you didn't manually enter your own zip code to check out what your personal shipping cost would be. The default setting for the shipping calculator is my zip code.

Hmmm, It's still showing up as $10.50 for me. I'm in the Pan Handle of Florida, so you're still quite a ways from me. I shipped a Katsura within the US in the area towards Orlando and it was still $18+ to ship it, and when I ship Katsura, I make my own boxes so they mold to the box to keep the shipping down. The biggest flat-rate box for Priority, which is about 1/3 the size of a katsura is still around $15 to ship with Insurance. There's really no place that it should show up as $10.50 to ship Priority is really what I'm saying. Just trying to help ya out, because eating shipping costs is no fun!

Wow you're so lucky. I saw ''wareshinobu'' on eBay but that was a long time ago and price was...ehh too big for me.

Well... it's still listed on Priority mail, so I don't know why the price is suddenly cheaper than what you've dealth with in the past. I'm thinking we're listing the weights differently. My wig and box don't even weigh seven pounds and the weight doesn't go that much farther up when I packgage them, but to make sure I raised the amount I said it weighs.

fukuyoshi, I saw that, too and considered it. But you're right, it was really expensive and I'll get more out of my new tsubushi shimada then with that wareshinobu. I think buying a special style like that is great for people who either make a lot of kanzashi or do a lot of henshins :).

Fuyouhime, is this katsura adjustable for different sizes? ( little screws under the side-bins) or elastic in the back? and if not, what ist your headsize? ( in cm please)

There's elastic in back, so it does have some stretch to it. For my headsize, it's 58cm in circumference, 30cm from ear to ear, and 40cm from mid-forehead to the nape of my neck. I found that the size of it wasn't really the problem, it was the weight of it that caused it to be uncomfortable. Wedding katsura are just too heavy for me. I hope that helps :).
