I love the traditional clothes. I hope to own a kimono one day. Making kanzashi is fun, but I don't really know what they are for. Manga and anime are kind of ok, but they can make you feel sad as the world isn't as adventurous as you want it to be.
Asian culture is my love. Sushi and chow mein etc... I LOVE IT ALL! (except for the cat and dog eating )
what do you love?

Hey there! Welcome! Kanzashi are hair ornaments, and there are many types, which, once this forum takes off, I will be writing a few different knowledge things. And hopefully some of the others can write some things too. : ) << >>
My favorite things would have to be traditional clothes as well, at least things to own. I've been collecting for about six years now, and selling antiques is the only way I've found to feed the habit!
I'm sure you'll own a kimono soon.

I love Japanese rock and (some) pop. <3 I'm always looking for new and interesting bands or musicians! Right now, I listen to several bands regularly, including L'Arc~en~Ciel, Gackt, Remioromen, Renter~en~Soi, Miyavi, and Orange Range. If anybody has some other bands to recommend, I'm all ears. ^_~
I also love Japanese fashion, like Fruits. <3

I used to be into manga and anime. Now I can hardly stand it as the fanbases can be so stupid.
And yes, sushi is delicious <3

I've started as an otaku also - and I still like to see some of the classics like Mononoke Hime. Guess they're okay
I love Maya Sakamoto's music - generally I'm more into anime music, than anime itself. I've heard classic Japanise music - it is beautiful, it may be relaxing, but I'm not sure if it's my everyday stuff :P
I generally try to widen my knowledge about all aspects of life in Japan
And, like all, I dream of a silk kimono with a gorgeous obi
BTW, I propose to make a thread concerning other thing like kanzashi, kimono accesories and other, as well as some kind of a hand-made thread? Some of us probably make some things by hand and - with little as I know - I may try to share what I know

sound great! I don't watch a lot of anime, but my friend does, and she gives me all the songs she likes. My favourite right now must be platinum by maya sakimoto, the third opening to card captor sakura (the only anime I have properly watched, but I haven't seen the whole of it. I had more important things to do :P )
I make kanzashi! But I use materials other than silk. I find it is too expensive for me. And as I want something I can use everyday, I tend to go for cheap fabric.. I may want to make a real one aswell, seeing as I had to make adjustments because I didn't have any craft wire. I sew my kanzashi

Most things.
I find my interests have come and gone over the years - once I was hardcore into anime -- now I watch it, but only once in a blue moon.
I'm into the Yoshida Brothers right now -- they play shamisen like you wouldnt' believe. They came a couple of weeks ago to my city, and they were GLORIOUS.
One of the things we enjoyed most while living there was attending a number of the local festivals -- they'e everywhere! Most of them are wonderfully cool about incorporating local foreigners too.
I'm impressed you can make Kanzashi! I've tried and found them too time consuming.

I love the mythology. Spirits, Kami, ayakashi, mononoke, Tengu, Kappa.
I adore it all. I'm actually working on a story that deals with a lot of this too. Maybe you guys can help me too! =D

wow.. sounds really interesting!
I love mythology and have an encyclopedia on celtic, nordic and greek mythology. The stories and characters are very imaginative. And the nordic myths, as you should know, where the base for the lord of the rings trilogy..
but that's just a section of mythology.. are you interested in mainly japan's or any country's??
