true the homes give a open yet closed feeling... with the openess of the gardens or free areas and sometimes open screens to closeness of closed paper screens where you can only see a shadowof the figure on the other side...

I'm constantly surrounded by those gorgeous houses and filled with envy. I've decided that when I get my own house, I'm going to hire an architect from Japan to come over and design it and the garden for me and get everything I need. I don't care if it bankrupts me, I'm going to have my Japanese house!

How about a Canadian architect that specialises in Japanese architecture? However, able to withstand a modern Canadian winter, and another specialty in green building, lol?
Not me.
Yet.

Nope, but then again, I haven't started back in school yet nor met anyone. You could look up your local architecture association and see if they have anyone listed. You might be surprised.
When I go back to school, I'm taking architecture or interior design, it all depends on how much money I can manage to scrape together for my first year.
I plan on specialising in green design and japanese architecture, if I can swing it.

i would but some of the languages are too harsh.. Japanese has to be in my opinion, one of the most fluid languages.
