I've got a new little beauty to show! It seems to be a meiji era furisode. I think it will be much more impressive in person than the photo shows.

Beautiful! I'm so envious. I'm still waiting for my chance to get my hands on a Meiji period furisode. I swear, I've nearly gotten everything else Meiji!

I've been looking for a nice fukuro obi that could go with multiple kimono...and I found one on eBay that fit the bill nicely.

And it was only $14.50! There's a couple of small stains, but otherwise it looks great...and I can't wait to get it!

Okay... so this wasn't an auction, but I'm so stoked that I managed to snag it!

I just got this gorgeous kinkoma embroidery piece off Ichiroya. It's supposed to be part of a hero's kabuki costume, but I think that with the right accessories I can use this as a really smashing oiran obi! I've been hoping to do an oiran ensemble including jumping carp, and this will be absolutely perfect!

I CAN'T WAIT TILL THIS ARRIVES IN THE MAIL!!! *dances around*

GoldenPhoenix mentioned finding this piece on Ichiroya. I've had good luck with them so far (just purchased a yukata and pre-tied obi--but I don't have pictures, darnit!), and they usually have reasonable prices. Barring them, Yamatoku has a nice selection of furisode and fukuro obis.
