I have an old furisode that I would like to trade for a yukata set (i.e. yukata and obi at least) or a few pairs of shoes (I would prefer informals - geta or oshare zouri).

The furisode is rather worn, and has many patinas and stains. There is a small rip in the lining near the left shoulder. It can still be worn, but the stains will show. I would suggest it be used for a remake project or for display. I wore it once, then decided that dry-cleaning and storage would be too much trouble.

As you can see, the furisode is bright mustard yellow with a rinzu weave of clouds. It has a pattern of pine bunches and pine needles, with silver and gold embroidery on the left overlap.

Here is a picture of a patina on the left overlap:

Still, if anyone is interested, please reply to this post and we'll work something out.

Just a question, how long is your furisode? It's a bugger finding kimono long enough for me (meet Kya, the giantess at 5 foot 9 inches)

Well Kyasarin I'm 6.1 and I share your pain in finding the proper lenght. I get away with a kimono that is 1.63m and manage to blag my ohashori.

On the other hand it is great for your wallet, you can look at all the goodies on Ebay and say 'ahhhh too short what a shame' :D

Yukikahou: *twitch* Sadly, I need a kimono that is closer to 70 inches long....gomen nasai! It is really very pretty, but I can hardly manage a kimono that is 63 inches long. They're too short to make a proper ohashori - and I need one. I feel weird without it! ^^;

It's alright! I'm really bad at imperial measurements (been using metric my whole life), sorry for not noting your height...

Anyways I wish you all the best in finding one that fits :wink:

Thanks! I almost lost myself in a corner of a warehouse filled with kimono this morning, and once again my height limited me to only a few kimono. I didn't get any because the only one I liked was $310, but I did get a juban which is long enough thank God XD

Good luck to you too, Yukikahou, on trading your kimono! It's so purty =w=
