Oh, but i like the friends and foes part! I really do think we should keep it! Or maybe there is a thing that can disable it for certain members if they dont like it!?

I think it's silly. I agree with it being petty and not very mature. It would be like "A Mod made me mad today! I'm going to add them to my foe list. That'll show 'em!".

We are all mature adults and I don't see that thing being great for the forum.

o.O wow tha would be immature, anyways you can't ignore mods and admins. it was written there i think... or somewhere else in the user control panel.

i see my utility as mod like this:

there is this user i think is only doing bad things in the forum, so i want to track down every new post that person makes. so i will add it to friends list, so i get all updates shown at once and i don't have to look up all the forum to see if the user posted some nasty comments.

plus, i doubt the other user can see who you add as your friend... i was in another forum where this option was available as well and it kind of was really useful and i don't think you could see who added you as friend, but i could be wrong.

We could test it out, I guess. I will add you as a friend and you can see if it visible to you. Okay?

I completly agree! But i really do think there should be a disable button (only if possible) to users who dont want it!

nope i can't see that you added me as friend Ichiko.

i guess that function should be than optional or completely removed as it is causing so much discussion. : D i think that the forum isn't really that big and it is still easy to keep an eye on everything.

It doesn't seem to be visible to me. SO I guess that will work fine.

ahhh it worked for me!

you can even take single posts from one thread and paste it into another thread! that's what i like the most and was hoping i would be able to make in the test forum. it's a bit tricky at the beginning but it works really well! ;)

Well, I thought I saw a means for disabling that feature (friends and foes) just to see if I could, but now I can't find it. Oh dear. Haha. We'll see, we'll see.

There is so much! And I haven't hardly gotten to really look at the Moderator Control Panel, mainly just the Administrator Control Panel.

Well, do you suppose I put TM into queue for upgrade to PHP3 now? It'll least be a few days and could be a month or two. . .

i think you should do it Tsuruko-san!
Oh and what i would like to say: thank you for asking us  i don't think every admin would do it.

ah wait, one last question: when the forum is in that queue, does that mean we can't use it?

The kimono-san forum is PHP3 and, while it was a bit complicated on the back end for me, the end result was better than PHP2.

When IG did the switch over it screwed up some posts making it just gargled junk meaning nothing. And it also messed up a lot of the kanji people had written. So this worries me, because most of our posts have Japanese writing in them, especially the "Geisha Library".
