Change from PHP 2 to PHP 3

I tried to get two threads to merge and it didn't work. So hopefully you know how to do this.

I've managed to figure out how to merge.

Do you have access to the moderator control panel in the upper right somewhere between the text box and the TM logo? Click that, and you should be able to merge from there. Takes a little fiddling around in all the drop downs, but I managed to merge the two together.

If you don't have access to moderator controls, let me know.

I, too, think the "friends and foes" thing is ridiculous! It just seems really childish and petty...I mean, you should join a forum because you like it, not join one where you cringe every time you log on because you think your "foe" may be on! I like the purple, though...and I hate purple! Maybe the avatars could be a little bit bigger, say 150x150, but the size now is great. I can't complain...at least it's not "90x90"! Screwy! I am sure whatever you choose, it will look quite lovely.

And here I love purple, and pink is totally not my color! Oh dear. . . hahaha!

Green is actually my favorite however. . . ;3 But I wanted red in the scheme here and there, and green and red = Christmas, at least in my opinion. When/If ( looks like a when more likely ) we got to PHP 3, I'll see what I can do to disable the 'foes' part of the Friends and Foes feature, or disable the whole thing as I think we're pretty much all friends about here, which is something really nice to have in a forum, no? So what would be the point? Hmmm?

to be honest i have no idea what PHP3 or whatever is, but the test-forum you linked looks pretty nice. i like the purple, it's my favorite color XD but if it is the same stuff IG is using, i maybe will have problems with it. sometimes i'm just unable to log in IG (there's the login stuff, i type name and passoword it says "you are logged in, back to previous page" and i'm just back at the log in - ?! - but i don't know if it has to do something with that) and the IG forums stretches very bad for me.

Well, IG is using PHP 3, but they're using a lot of custom scripts as well which probably is what's causing you some issue. If the test board isn't stretching for you, then when the upgrade happens, the normal board shouldn't stretch either. If you'd like, you can sign up with a quick account on the test forums and check the login issues and see if it gives you any problem.

To answer about php 2 from php 3, PHP is like an OS for message boards. Switching from PHP 2 to PHP 3 is going to be like going from Windows XP to Windows Vista, or if you've never used Vista, going from Windows 98 to Windows XP. XD

Lets say someone starts a new thread, but I know that we already have a tread for that subject. So I take that new thread and merge it together with the old thread make it one whole thread on that subject.

I see a utility as a mod with that friend function. Perhaps tsuruko could make it available only for mods if you all don't like it?

after thinking a long time on that subject, i cam to the conclusion that 150*150 might be a bit to big after all. we should test it out how it looks on the new boards.
